With so much rain coming down this summer it can be down right discouraging to arrive on your vacation without a backup plan. When you stay with us at DeBordieu Rentals you’ll be staying somewhere that comes with a Plan B already in place in case you experience a rainy vacation. We don’t believe in canceling events to stay indoors when it rains so the #1 solution gets you out and about and working with it. Whether you want to hang around Pawleys Island, travel to Georgetown or take a short road trip up to Myrtle Beach, there’s plenty of indoor activities to keep you and the family occupied all day, every day.
Play In It
Head to the local mall or drugstore and buy each member of the family their own colorful umbrella, raincoat and rain boots. (Boots are optional because we believe in going barefoot at the beach.)
Go For a Walk On The beach
Providing it’s not lightning and thundering, head on down to the oceanfront and go for a walk in the rain. Watch how alive the surf becomes when there’s a storm offshore.
Take In a Movie
Grab the family and take in a good movie you’ve been waiting to see. There are plenty of indoor movie theatres up and down the coast. But don’t forget the popcorn!
Sightseeing Tours
Let someone else do the driving while you stay dry on one of the many sightseeing tours in the area. Cap’n Rod’s Lowcountry Plantation Tours, Rover Boat Tours, Carolina Rover, and Swamp Fox Tours, all await to occupy your rainy days.
Visit the Local Museums and Plantations
Go on your own explorative tours of museums and plantations in the Georgetown area. Check out the Rice Museum, Georgetown County Museum, Kaminski House Museum, Hopsewee Plantation, Hampton Plantation, Gullah Museum, South Carolina Maritime Museum, and more.
Sip & Painting Class
Take a painting class at The Carefree Canvas at 129 King St., in Georgetown, SC. This is a popular “sip and paint” art studio that’s all the rage right now. Includes Kiddies Kreate, a family friendly class designed with children in mind.
