Our homes and villas are available for rental on a weekly basis in Summer and for a minimum of two nights during the off-season. During Summer, reservations run from Friday to Friday for most houses and Saturday to Saturday for most villas, unless otherwise noted.

Reservations require the stated deposit on the Deposit Request letter. A Deposit Request & Rental Agreement will be mailed to you on the day of booking. The signed Agreement and the deposit must be received by the Rental Office within 10 days. Reservations not confirmed shall be canceled. All deposits will be placed in an interest bearing account, with interest accruing to DeBordieu Colony Real Estate, Inc.

The balance of the rental cost is due 30 days prior to arrival. We accept personal checks, bank checks, travelers checks, Visa or Mastercard.

Rates quoted do not include mandatory departure cleaning, linen service, other services or the 10% state/local taxes.

We accept checks, Visa, Mastercard and American Express.

ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE PROTECTION (ADP) is required for all rentals. With ADP you will not be required to pay for accidental damage to the home or personal property of the homeowner contained within the premises up to an aggregate limit of $500. Damages exceeding this limit will be the responsibility of the guest. In order to receive coverage under the ADP, all damages must be reported to the rental office immediately.

Check in is after 3:00 p.m. Please arrange your travel plans accordingly. We cannot issue passes to enter DeBordieu until 3:00 p.m. We advise postponing the purchase of perishable groceries as you will have no access to refrigeration until 3:00 p.m.

Check Out is before 10:00 a.m. This allows us time to prepare the home for our next guests. No exceptions, please.

You are a valued guest and we want to do everything possible to make your stay enjoyable and worry free. Because the unforeseen and unexpected can occur before you leave or when you’re away from home, we include travel protection on your lease agreement.

If a reservation is canceled, the rental deposit will be forfeited. Only if the property is re-rented for the same term and rate will the deposit be refunded, less an administrative charge of $100.

Guests reserving accommodations at DeBordieu enter into an agreement (with DeBordieu as agent) with a particular property owner, for a particular property. Therefore, transfers to another property are not allowed. Only if the original property is re-rented for the same term and rate will the deposit be transferable to the new reservation (see Cancellations).

Houseparties are not allowed. Any group consisting predominately of unrelated people under the age of 25, whether chaperoned or not, is considered a houseparty. Should a houseparty occupy a rental home, the rental will terminate immediately without a refund. The person making the reservation shall be held liable for any damage to the property, its' contents or surroundings.

Just like your own home, our homes can experience unanticipated breakdowns. All efforts will be made to insure that all equipment and appliances are in working order and that any problems are resolved as quickly as possible. Anything out of service should be reported to the rental office immediately. Although repairs will be made as quickly as possible, no refunds or transfers to another unit will be made.

Our homes have been decorated and equipped to satisfy the particular tastes and desires of the owners. All homes and villas have central A/C & heat, washer/dryer, dishwater, TV with cable, telephone and fully equipped kitchens. Furnishings are not to be rearranged and are subject to change without notice. Locked closets are the storage of the owner's private property and are not to be entered or disturbed.

Rental guests are not allowed to bring pets onto a rental property. This is a policy of the DeBordieu Colony Community Association.

From time to time, a home may be made unavailable due to damage or change of ownership. In this event, DeBordieu will attempt to locate comparable substitute accommodations. If no suitable substitute can be located, all deposits and payments shall be refunded.

Occupancy is strictly limited to the number stated in the unit description. The only exception is an infant sleeping in a crib. Extra roll-away beds or sleeping bags are not allowed.

Includes sheets, bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths, dish towels and bath mats. When you arrive you will find your beds made and towels set out in the bathrooms. The charge for this service will be on your Deposit Request.

Many of our homes have elevators. Elevators should only be used on check-in and check-out days for unloading and loading or when physically necessary. Unsupervised children must not be allowed in an elevator. A release must be signed before elevator keys will be issued. Please note: Although many properties with elevators can work well for those in wheelchairs, none of our properties are ADA compliant.

Local calls are free of charge. Long distance calls should be charged to a credit card or be made collect. Guests shall be responsible for any long distance charges made to the property along with a $25 fee.

Faxes can be sent and received through the rental office. Make sure the sender notes your name and property name or number on the transmittal sheet. The charge for sending or receiving faxes is $1 per page.

Grill only in open grassy or paved areas away from any building or as provided for under any specific villa or home regulations. For your safety, grilling is not permitted on decks, porches, balconies, pool areas, or on the beach.

Departure cleaning provided. However, we require that all trash be taken out, refrigerator emptied, floors free of excess debris and sand. The home should be left in a neat and orderly fashion. Failure to comply may result in additional cleaning charges.

A starter supply of soap, shampoo, bath tissue, and dishwashing liquid is provided for your convenience. Some things you will need to bring are staple kitchen items (salt, pepper, etc.), wraps, paper products, soap, laundry & dish detergent, beach chairs and beach towels.

If you request, we will attempt to locate an item left and mail it to you. $15 plus the cost of postage will be charged. Items left in homes and not claimed after 30 days are donated to a local charity.

If a home or villa is listed for sale, the sales department may need to schedule a showing. Our sales staff will give at least 24 hours notice prior to the showing. If the home you have reserved is listed for sale, it will be noted on your Deposit Request.

Although we realize that being near a construction site can be bothersome, we have no way of predicting when or where construction will be taking place, nor does DeBordieu Colony Real Estate, Inc. have authority to halt or interfere with construction activity. We will attempt to contact the contractor concerning the noise, but cannot guarantee the contractor's cooperation. No transfers or refunds will be made.

Guests towing a boat are required to obtain a temporary boat decal and to pay the appropriate launching fee, based on motor horsepower. No wake speed zones are strictly enforced in creeks. A full description of boat rules and regulations is available through the rental office. Jet skis are not permitted.

Motorcycles, moped motorized bikes, go carts and similar motorized vehicles are prohibited within DeBordieu Colony. Campers, trailers, or any other live-in moving vehicle are also prohibited. Motor vehicles are not allowed on beach.

Guests may bring golf carts, but must provide registration and proof of insurance. Operators must have a valid drivers license and obey all S.C. traffic laws and regulations. Operation is limited to daylight hours.

You may tentatively reserve the same home for next year by leaving a $250 deposit during your current stay. You must reserve prior to 2008 check-out to keep your priority status. Reservations are subject to owner approval and rate changes. Rates quoted on this site are valid for 2008 only.

Fireworks are prohibited within DeBordieu Colony. Discharge of firearms of any kind is prohibited. Public walkways are clearly marked. Do not walk through private property.

Our environment is our most precious asset. Please help us preserve it. Sand dunes are our primary defense from erosion. Sea oats, other grasses and vegetation that grow on the dunes are very fragile. Please stay off the dunes when walking and playing. Use only the walkways that are marked.

Each year, May through October, the endangered Loggerhead sea turtles returns to DeBordieu's beaches to nest. The Loggerheads hatch at night and make their way from the dunes to the ocean. Any artificial light may disorient the hatchlings, causing them to go astray. The use of deck, porch or other outdoor lights that shine on the beach are prohibited between May and October.

Dress codes apply for many of the DeBordieu Club facilities. Beach Club: Smart, casual. No jeans, shorts or T-shirts. Golf Club: Men - Shirts with collars/sleeves, slacks/shorts (16" length). Women - dresses, skirts, slacks, mid-length shorts, shirts with collars and blouses. Shirts without collars must have sleeves. Tennis: Cut-offs, bathing suit tops, tank tops, and running shoes are not permitted.

The opportunity to enjoy the private DeBordieu Club makes a DeBordieu vacation unique. DeBordieu rental guests are entitled to temporarily assume the Club membership held by the owner of the home in which they are renting with the payment of applicable fees(Membership information is noted in each home's description). Club use privileges vary according to the level of membership.
